4 Important Criteria for Choosing Your Logo Designer

Logo design is big business around the world these days. Logo design competition sites are sprouting like mushrooms, very controversially among both designers and marketers. In practice, of course, the reality is that if you’re looking for a custom logo design, it’s not that straightforward. If you’re looking for a custom design/ trademark, you need expert designers, not amateurs. We’ve put together a short shopping list for businesses to help find their way through the maze.

Issues with custom design logos

There are several big, and potentially expensive, issues in logo design:

1) Copyright: Plagiarism isn’t exactly unknown in logo design. Many companies are understandably sensitive about their designs, and will react aggressively to designs they consider too similar. This can mean lawsuits and in some cases years of expenses.

2) Quality: Logo quality can vary from the truly inspired to the truly staggeringly unimpressive. The low quality logos are a recipe for instant failure. They aren’t particularly striking visually, and they’re often generic, like a plate knife and fork for a cafeteria, or something equally imaginative. They’re more like Google map icons than logos, and they’re almost useless for marketing and advertising purposes.

3) Print-friendly logos: Crucially important, logos have to be applied to a range of different products like stationery, flyers, brochures and other basic business materials. That means that they have to be print-friendly and able to be manipulated by printers for sizing and fitting purposes on the materials.

4) Products and logos: If you’re marketing a new product, using a new name and running a major promotional campaign, the logo is the most visual part of your promotion. The logo, therefore, has to be memorable, and have a true “branding” effect on your product. (Imagine Coca Cola without the iconic branding. Unthinkable, isn’t it? That’s the high level of product identity you need.)

Finding a logo designer

The good news for businesses is that there are a lot of excellent professional logo designers online. You can find them quite easily, and most important you can compare them and evaluate the quality of their work. See our logo portfolio

Important: If you just search “Top logo designs” you’ll get too many results. The search has to be well organized to find the right people. Some professional designers also work on the design competition sites, but it’s strongly advised to play safe and check out designers using search terms like “logo design company ” with qualifiers like the region or city name to find the experts in this field.

Everything else is done on a straightforward B2B basis. Consultation, quotes and establishing timeframes are the next stage. You’ll find the best designers work seamlessly, and will be able to provide useful technical backup when you need it.

Some more good news – Finding a good logo designer also means finding a good graphics supplier when you need one. If you need good quality logo designs for your business, you can consult us. At ZeroBulb, we provide professional logo that helps to memorable, and have a true “branding” effect on your product.

With having so much written content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it looks like a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any techniques to help prevent content from being stolen? I’d definitely appreciate it.
